Taking your practice home: Developing a self-practice

Many yoga students want to practice at home or when they're on the move, but don’t know where to start. Beginners face the task of remembering poses; more experienced students struggle to decide the emphasis for their session. Household challenges, family obligations, work, motivation, boredom or lack of time are obstacles that inevitably crop up. I've been there too, and here share some of the things which most helped me to find the discipline to get on my mat, and enable me to discover the transformational effects of a regular self-practice that you can take anywhere.

In this course, we learn helpful tips and practices so that no matter your experience, mood, level of confidence or time, there’s always room for yoga. We examine in detail the two biggest barriers to self-practice: knowing what to do in the first place, and then knowing if what we're doing is right. We look at how to motivate ourselves, support each other and create a practice at home that truly contributes to our yoga journey. The course is complemented by follow-up open practice sessions so students can try their ideas in a safe and supported environment to build up the habit and confidence to go it alone.
